North Riverside Drive to Close
North Riverside Drive will close from Lincoln Way to North Second Street on Monday, Nov. 18, weather permitting, for the removal and replacement of pavement.

Prairie Maintenance Planned in November
Ames Parks and Recreation staff is planning prairie burns at three local parks and a City facility as weather permits in November. Burns will be scheduled at Moore Memorial Park, Ada Hayden Heritage Park, Christofferson Park, and natural space at the Ames Water Plant.

No-Charge Yard Waste Day is Saturday
The third No-Charge Yard Waste Day of the fall will be Saturday, Nov. 16, at GreenRU, 400 Freel Drive. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This day is for leaves/clippings and brush. The final fall no-charge days will be Saturday, Nov. 23 and is for leaves/clippings only.

Ames City Auditorium Receives Arts Project Grant for Concert Series
The Ames City Auditorium has received a 2024 Arts Project Grant award for $5,380 from the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts to expand its annual concert series.

Heat Pump Open House Set for Nov. 19
The City of Ames will host a public open house at the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave., on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. focusing on heat pumps and winter heating.
